Elen really understands the connection between the mind and the body and will help you to peel back the layers of things that maybe you haven’t seen before that are causing pain and tension in your body.

Susan
I've made significant progress with Elen - her modality of working with the mind and muscle link has resulted in substantial pain reduction and improved mobility.

Saira
I saw Elen after being told surgery might be the only option for my tmj pain. She explained how tension in other areas of my body were contributing to my jaw pain, and worked carefully to release it. Even after just a few sessions I've noticed such a difference!

Chloe
Elen has worked with my brain and body to deal with pain I’ve been experiencing for 9 years. I’ve seen physios and other professionals over the years, but Elen’s treatment led to immediate improvement.

What happens in the first session?
Your first session is all about getting to know you. We’ll explore your story; where things started, what you’ve already tried, what’s happening right now, and where you’d like to get to. This helps us figure out whether chronic pain counselling is the right approach for you. There’s no pressure. It’s simply a safe, supportive space to share what’s been going on and start making sense of it.
How much does it cost?
The first appointment is an extended 80-minute session for $180 AUD. This allows time to go deeper into your story and build a plan that fits your unique situation. Follow-up sessions (50 minutes for $120 AUD) are available after the initial session, but cannot be booked through this landing page.
Do I need to commit to multiple sessions?
No, there’s no obligation to sign up for a certain number of sessions. You can take it one step at a time. After your first session, we’ll talk about what might be helpful going forward, but the choice is always yours.
Do you offer in-person appointments?
Yes! This page is specifically for online counselling sessions. If you’re in the Sydney area and would prefer to see me in person, you can book through my main website: 👉
Will this reduce my pain/symptoms, or just help me cope?
Both. And here’s why that matters. When you’re living with chronic pain or illness, your nervous system often stays in “high alert,” keeping your body stuck in fight-or-flight mode. This can make symptoms feel worse, flare more often, or last longer than they need to. It can also make it harder to manage emotions like anxiety, fear, and stress. By working together to calm and regulate your nervous system, we’re not just giving you coping tools, we’re helping create the conditions for your body to shift out of survival mode. For many people, this means symptoms become less intense or less frequent over time. At the very least, you’ll leave with strategies to help you feel safer and steadier, so you can ride out the hard days while continuing to work with your doctors on the physical side of healing. It’s easy to forget your mental health when you’re dealing with intense physical symptoms. But if all your energy goes into managing your body or chasing physical solutions, you risk neglecting a huge and deeply important part of yourself. Even giving your mental state a little bit of attention can make the whole journey feel lighter and more manageable.
Still not sure? That's totally ok!
It’s completely normal to feel unsure before booking your first session. If you’d like to talk it through, you can send me an email at info@mindandmusclerescue.com.au and share a little about what you’re going through. I can help you decide whether chronic pain counselling is the right next step for you.
A bit more about me
Hi! I'm Elen Kryltsova
I’m Elen Kryltsova, a counsellor with a background in physical therapy and massage. My work focuses on the mind–body connection, helping people reduce chronic pain and illness by addressing not just the body, but the nervous system patterns and emotional stress that feed pain.
Professionally, I’m qualified in counselling and have years of experience supporting clients both in-person and online. I combine evidence-based psychological approaches with practical tools for calming the nervous system, making sense of symptoms, and rebuilding confidence in your body.
My passion for this work comes from personal experience. I’ve lived with pain and illness myself, and I know how exhausting, confusing, and isolating it can be. That history gives me both empathy and determination: to create a safe space where your pain is taken seriously, your fears are understood, and you can find relief and new ways forward.
